Phu Quoc has both sides. The south and main town areas are more developed, while the north and some beaches like Bai Thom or Rach Vem still offer peaceful escapes. Choose your location based on your travel style.
Most nationalities can enter Phu Quoc visa-free for up to 30 days if arriving directly by air or cruise. However, check current regulations and ensure your flight doesn’t transit through mainland Vietnam without a visa.
Renting a motorbike is the most flexible and budget-friendly way to explore.
Taxis and ride-hailing apps are available in towns but limited elsewhere.
Roads are generally in good condition, though they can be bumpy in remote areas.
Dry season (November to April) is best for swimming and sunbathing. Rainy season (May to October) can bring rougher seas and some beaches may have debris or seaweed, depending on wind direction.
Visit Phu Quoc Prison for history, snorkel or dive in the An Thoi archipelago, hike in the national park, or explore the night market in Duong Dong. Fish sauce factories and pepper farms offer unique local insights.
